Hey, everybody! Welcome to this month’s newsletter!
Usually I do these outside. I think I’ve done one from inside the SIM. I was planning on doing this one outside, but with the wind out there today, it was not going to go very well. I tried to sit in one of the airplanes and the video was moving a lot, so obviously that’s not going to be a good video. So, here I am back in the SIM.
Last month, we spent a little bit of time talking about how doing a discovery flight is a great way to figure out whether you want to do this flight training stuff. A lot of you responded and a lot of you asked great questions about discovery flights, and so this month, I wanted to give a small video on what the next question usually is, which is, “Hey, Tim. I want to do this. How much does it cost?”
Obviously, that depends on a lot of factors: how often you’re out here, what kind of airplane you pick – some of our airplanes are $110.00 an hour and some of our planes are more expensive – so it depends on what type of airplane you pick, how often you are out here. It depends on a lot of factors, but in general, it’s just a math equation right, like we just have to figure out how many hours it is going to take you, what the price per hour is, and we go from there.
Now, most people take a minimum of 40 hours; that’s what the FAA says. Most people take anywhere between 65 and 75 hours, so from there you can do some simple math calculations. Generally speaking, what I tell most people is that the budget is probably around $15,000. It’s not a cheap thing to do, but budget right around $15,000. Hopefully, that’s about the middle ground and hopefully, we will come in under that. You’re out here a lot and you’re doing a lot of studying on your own, and we can go from there. But it’s my easy answer to how much does this cost.
So budget is about $15,000. Again that depends on a lot of factors, but that’s generally the what we give out to everybody. Next month, I’m going to do some other videos in front of the airplanes. We’re going to check out some of the other airplanes; we are going to continue that feed, so look out for those videos. Until then, hope everybody’s having a safe time!
It’s starting to get warm out there. It’s starting to become springtime. We’re seeing a lot of people out there flying. We love seeing you guys stopping by and saying hi.
Give us a shout! We appreciate you as always and will see you soon.
